Susan is an active mediator on the SAMLA -RAF and the Gauteng Department of Health Medical Negligence project, where she also serves as a coordinator of the mediations. Susan serves on the Mediation in Motion Mediators (MiMM) Exco. Susan's experience and exposure put her in an ideal position to assist you with the mediation of any Medical, Disability, Workplace or interpersonal-related dispute. Susan has had great success with workplace and interpersonal relationship mediation and has been involved in the successful mediation of Disability Insurance disputes. Susan obtained her Occupational Therapy degree in 1992. She is registered with the HPCSA and OTASA. She is a member of several organisations, including Mediation in Motion Mediators and the South African Medico-Legal Association. Her practice focuses on Disability Management, Medico-Legal work, Insurance, and Vocational Rehabilitation. Susan has 32 years of experience in the fields of disability, work and labour as well as the insurance industry and preparation of Medico-Legal reports. She is registered and certified by ABIME as a certified practitioner in using the AMA guide. She is a certified WorkWell FCE therapist as well as a certified ErgoScience PWPE therapist. Since 2010, Susan is actively involved with the placement of persons living with disabilities in learnership programs in order to facilitate full-time, open labour market employment. Susan is actively involved in corporate work in line with labour legislation and actively assists companies with adherence to the Employment Equity Act as it relates to disability and reasonable accommodation of persons living with a disability. This includes sensitisation in the workplace. She facilitates return to work after illness or injury and is involved in the full spectrum of Disability Management in the workplace. Susan serves on the medical claims committee for a large insurer, assessing disability claims, PHI, CD and CI. She has extensive knowledge of insurance and disability.
