Her clinical training includes a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BCur Education and Administration, University of Johannesburg), supported by diplomas in General Nursing, Midwifery, and Community Health from Chris Hani Baragwanath Nursing College—credentials that give her a practical, grounded understanding of the realities that often sit behind medical negligence and personal injury disputes. Johanna completed Commercial and Health Sector Mediation training through the University of Cape Town in 2016 (MiM) and continued to strengthen her dispute-resolution toolkit through further study, including Foundations of Medicolegal Practice (UCT/SAMLA) and the Art and Science of Negotiations (Wits). Her mediation experience is rooted in medical negligence matters. Since 2019, she has participated in the SAMLA and Gauteng Department of Health medical negligence mediation project, serving in multiple roles—from observer to co-mediator, and ultimately as lead mediator. She also has the capability to mediate disputes involving medical aids and health insurance. She is an independent non executive director of an NPO.
