I obtained a B Proc degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, and after being admitted as an Attorney in 1982 I practiced law in private practice before joining the insurance industry as a senior legal advisor in the mid-1990s. This was followed by various Executive roles in the insurance industry. I have served on numerous Boards and Board Committees, culminating in my appointment as CEO of one of South Africa’s largest underwriting managers in 2013. In 2015 I was a proud recipient of the Sanlam Group CEO award. I have significant experience in commercial disputes and have been involved in several of the most significant policy wording and claims disputes in the South African insurance industry. My strength lies in finding sustainable solutions to complex problems.
