Expertise
I am an admitted attorney and an accredited Facilitative Mediator. I was admitted as an Attorney on 11 September 2017 and this is my story. I have approximately 23 years’ experience in working in the legal spheres and predominantly with Road Accident Fund, Personal Injury and Delictual Matters. I have become proficient in these fields of law. I am able to use my knowledge gained over the years to the benefit of my clients, alternatively, understanding the clients during mediation sessions. I have gained my knowledge from starting at the entry level, at a receptionist position assisting with working with various types of matters which gives me a great advantage to have dealt with matters at all levels. I have started my career at Koos Mouton Attorneys, later known as Mouton & Williams Attorneys. I learned to work with people on all levels and can appeal to any type of person. I continued my career at Klinkenberg Incorporated Attorneys, formerly known as Klinkenberg Duvenage Attorneys, as from April 2006 where I worked for approximately 10 years as the Head of the Road Accident Fund and Damages Department until the sudden and unfortunate death of the Director, the late Mr Robert Klinkenberg, causing the firm to unfortunately close. I subsequently joined Joubert Botha Attorneys where I continued working with Road Accident Fund matters. I joined PMBi Attorneys Conveyancers Notaries in March 2019 in a senior Attorney position due to my experience in the field of Road Accident Fund, personal injury and damages, again as the Head of the Road Accident Fund and Damages Department. I open my own law firm and further my education and extend my expertise to Mediation. I completed my Medication Course with Mediation in Motion (MiM/UCT) in November 2020 and are excited of what mediation can do for parties involved in a dispute and how it definitely can improve settlements between the parties and uphold a good relationship following such dispute. Since the last mentioned, I was joined by a partner and our practice is known as Rautenbach De Lange Incorporated Attorneys. I belief mediation as an alternative method of dispute resolution provides the possibility to facilitate more parties to find favourable settlements which is in the best interest of the parties which ensures satisfaction to all parties concerned which in fact does not destroy the relationship that existed prior to the dispute. Facilitative Mediation is a form of dispute resolution process, controlled by an impartial mediator, which process is voluntarily attended and in which the parties are facilitated to find a solution amongst themselves which is favourable to both parties. It is a process that concentrate on the relationship between the parties for the current as well as the future. The benefit is that once the parties reaches a settlement, it can be made an order of court and both parties will have no problem to adhere to the terms as it is a settlement which they decided on and which is favourable to them. In the role as mediator my focus remain to be impartial and to create a platform and space and to facilitate the parties to find a solution to their dispute favourable to all. My passion is to help people find fairness and assist to find peace when legal disputes are hindering their well-being, health and mind. I believe in always treating any matter with the utmost diligence, respect, care and professionalism as I understand that I am entrusted by parties in my presence. Thank you for your indulgence.
